Administrative Tools

We're building out more comprehensive guidance, but here is a list of tools and why they are awesome!

  • Google Apps: Ideally, everyone in our network has Google Apps for Business. A suite of office products in the cloud. What more could you ask for?
    • HelloSign: For official document share, approving and signing
    • Awesome Screenshot: DoStuff saves a lot of screenshots, edits them in seconds, and shares them easily with Awesome Screenshot.
    • Rapportive: Immediate info about the contacts you are emailing with. Hugely useful, use it.
    • Boomerang: For scheduling and sending email
    • Google URL Shortener: There is no app you will use more. Shorten any url by clicking a link in your toolbar, so easy, so useful
    • Open Compose for Gmail: Need to send an email but you know that if you open Gmail you are going to get distracted by who knows what in your inbox? Don't look! It'll take up 30 minutes of your time IF you are lucky. Instead, use Open Compose. Click on the icon and it takes you right to your compose email screen instead of your inbox.
    • Inbox Pause: Allow yourself time to work in your email without getting distracted by incoming email.
    • Save to Google Drive: For your emails you want as a document.
    • MeasureIt: Measure the pixels for any image on your web screen. So handy. Remember when you had to save an image and then open it in a photo editor to find out the size?
    • Colorzilla: Super handy to quickly get a color reading from any point in your browser. Definitely a must if you will be designing anything from an ad widget to a google doc
    • JSON View: So you can easily look at and sort through pieces of code when needed!
