Women's History Month Editorial Concepts - Content Directive (3/5)

Wazzup fam?!

I’m here with some rad content directives for Women’s History Month courtesy of the Intersectionality Committee.

Important Notes!

Each of these pieces should be inclusive to all women: BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and disabled-bodied.

A few terms we’d like to avoid when creating these content pieces and others like it are: ‘womxn’, ‘womyn’, and ‘female’.

With those points in mind, we would like YOU to build the following pages:

Concept 1:

15 Badass Women Making [City]'s Arts & Entertainment Scenes Possible -

An editorial (/p) page that profiles 15 women kicking ass in the local arts, entertainment, and nightlife communities. We’d like you to focus on women who are making experiences happen -- venues, festivals, restaurants, galleries, etc -- and highlighting the best ways for our users to support their endeavors at the present time: merch, GoFundMes, takeout, etc.

Concept 2:

Badass Women-Led Bands We Love - An exploratory editorial (/p) page that highlights women-led bands with an accompanying playlist, similar to our Black Musicians You Should Know directive from last month.

*Extra points: Reach out to the bands and put together a creative video like this one for fun shareable content on social.

Concept 3:

Resources For Women In [City] - An editorial (/p) page listing health clinics, organizations, and community support resources for women.

Concept 4:

[City] Women-Owned Businesses to Support - An editorial (/p) page highlighting 15 especially rad locally-owned businesses across different verticals and neighborhoods.

Liz is working on visual assets to accompany the promotion of each of these pages. We’ll send those over (and add them to the master editorial image repository) as soon as they’re ready.

We’re also working on a template to use on Instagram Stories to encourage our audiences to tag their favorite badass women and women-owned businesses (Asana task here). Shouts to Deanna for that idea.

Thanks so much! Please let us know if you have any questions as you go. We’re also always happy to provide extra sets of eyes on your content if you’d like feedback: Please don’t hesitate to send any drafts our way. We love to read them.

To WOMEN!
